Economy Commission Proposals - 12 february 2004
WORK
The concentration of capital and monopolies opposes our humanist vision of the future. On the contrary, the promotion of small businesses, cooperatives and business based on participation of the workers allows diversity of forms, creativity and the new to be guaranteed.
It is business based on participation of the workers, which will give priority to production and create jobs, and will guarantee wealth; not speculation and the destruction of production as is the case of speculative capital.
ECONOMY
The defence of diversity and opening must be brought to the economic field.
In the Humanist Municipal Plan the creation of an non-profit making neighbourhood bank is foreseen, charged with collecting savings of the neighbours to finance businesses based on participative ownership of the workers and autonomous businesses formed by groups of these same neighbours.
Also at a European level, a public interest-free bank will favour the creation of these new models of business, and will support social infrastructure of hospitals, schools, parks, streets and housing.
On the other side, the elimination of commercial tariffs, will allow other countries to export their products to Europe, and for these countries, the majority of which are poor, there will be a possibility to rebuild their economies, directly affecting the forced emigration caused by economic factors.
Along with the process of levelling and solidarity between the component members of the European Union, we consider it important to maintain Cohesion Funds.
